Brewing

Brewing lets you create custom drinks using cauldrons, barrels, and special ingredients. Drinks can ferment, age, and even affect players when consumed.

Fermenting is the first step in creating a brew.

  1. Place a cauldron over a heat source (fire, campfire, lava, etc.)
  2. Fill it with water
  3. Add ingredients by right-clicking the cauldron
  4. Wait for the mixture to ferment
  5. Fill glass bottles with the brew

Right-click the cauldron with a clock to see how long it has been fermenting.

After fermenting, drinks can be aged to improve or change their quality.

  • Place bottled brews into a barrel
  • Each Minecraft day = 1 year of aging
  • The type of wood used can affect the final quality
Brewing Barrel

Sealing is used to make brews tradeable and compatible with shop systems.

  • Brew Sealing Table is used to seal drinks
  • Crafted using:
    • 2 Bottles
    • 4 Wooden Planks
  • Makes all similar brews identical for trading
  • Removes brew details and metadata
  • Prevents further aging or modification

Alcohol effects wear off over time, but can also be reduced faster by consuming certain items.

  • Alcohol level decreases over time
  • Logging off while very drunk may teleport you to a random location when you return
  • If offline for a long time, you may respawn at spawn with no memory of events
  • Low-quality drinks may cause hangover effects like:
    • Slowness
    • Hunger
